About House of Sonique

House of Sonique is a fashion, art & entertainment company that produces balls, socials, dance parties & runway shows in which the societal norms of gender & fashion do not exist. Our goal is to simple: to provide top-notch high-energy entertainment and provide a platform for marginalized individuals.

Established in 2018, The Garden Ball has been the creative hub that the House utilizes to share their talent, feature local queer artists & dance the night away. From Indian restaurants, boutique hotels & now U Street Music Hall the show continues to grow.

The show is comprised of two hosts: Butterknife Decadence & Mr. Ms. Chrysalis. Each ball they continue to entertain the audience with their witty humor and banter. They guide the audience through the fashionable categories that audience members can compete in to win a trophy and bragging rights for the night.

Between each category there is a entertainer, either from the House or the DMV area, they vary from drag kings & queen, club kids and so much more. In 2019, House of Sonique collaborated with fellow member & personal designer, Mary Bimbola. Together they produced their first runway show adding another unique element to the growing ball. The latest Bimbola collection was featured during Coundown! Capital Pride Kick Off at the National Portrait Gallery in collaboration with Brightest Young Things.

Make sure you follow the House’s social media to keep up with their upcoming gigs!
